Despite valiant efforts to play, Saturday was a complete washout for Cirencester’s three senior teams and the away matches for the Under 11s on Saturday and Under 9s on Sunday also fell foul of the weather. On Sunday the Senior Friendly against Poulton was building into an intriguing contest on a rain affected pitch before the rains again intervened.
The Under 13s did manage to get a couple of matches played. In the County Cup they played Aldsworth who batted first scoring 74 for 4 with J Mosson top scoring on 25. Cirencester bowling honours went to Will Alder with 3 wickets for 10. Although the Town batting was inconsistent against accurate bowling, they edged home in the last over to claim the win for the loss of 7 wickets.
On Sunday, they
were looking to continue the winning streak in the Stroud League. Tetbury
won the toss, elected to bat and posted a total of 84 for 6, D. West and K.
Colvin sharing batting honours with 27 and 23 respectively. Will Alder, James
Moorcroft and Billy Breen notched two wickets apiece. Rory Birtwistle (25)
and Tom Juniper (23) produced strong batting for Cirencester but they were
unable to eclipse the Tetbury score finishing on 78 for 7.
