Reynolds stars in disappointing weekend [Monday 3 June 2002]
Young batsman Andy Reynolds registered his maiden 1st XI fifty on Saturday, unfortuanately in a losing cause. Cam batted first after winning the toss and made 170, despite a testing opening spell from Graham Clarke. Gee Singh bowled well to take 4-34 whilst at the other end Dick Tugwell took two wickets in an over.
Cirencester never got going in reply and it took a determined innings from Reynolds (53*) to give Cirencester a chance. In the end they fell 23 runs short.
The 2nd XI lost by 10 runs away at Chalford 2nd XI. Andy Lobo top scored for Cirencester with his maiden fifty.
The 3rd XI went down by 204 runs to Crudwell, Simon Rowe continuing his good form with 31 out of 51.
On Sunday a Cirencester XI, captained by Dave Durston, played a Cheltenham development side at the Victoria Ground. Cirencester batted first and made 185 with Andy Reynolds scoring another unbeaten half century. The home side reached the target with over six overs to spare.
