Pavilion– Help Please [Wednesday 2 February 2005]
Message from Brian Woodcock and the House Sub-Committee:
The pavilion is wintering well, despite the odd tree through the roof!!!
A new sub-committee has been set up to manage the building and its environs and as a result some refurbishment has taken place and will continue before the NatWest CricketForce weekend on 2/3 April - more of that in the coming weeks.
This Sunday morning (February 6) we would like to enlist your help for an hour or 2 between 10 and 12 to have a quick clean and a few runs to the tip. As a committee your support in our efforts to improve the cleanliness and clear some junk would be greatly appreciated.
Please mail Brian Woodcock if you can attend and spread the word, as I say only 1-2 hrs, even just picking some stuff up for the tip will be great.
The House sub-committee are also looking for a second-hand fridge, and a CD player. Please turn out those lofts and dusty rooms, there must be one out there.
Finally, we wanted a pool table to go in the refurbished lounge/games room but that is not viable at present. However, we are looking to purchase a 2nd hand 6ft x 3ft table with pool balls…unless you know of one that could be donated!
10 weeks’ time we
will be open for business again, watch this space!
