Durston leads Cirencester to victory [Wednesday 12 June 2002]
Dave Durston's unbeaten 39 led Cirencester to victory over Northleach in the Cirencester and District Knockout Cup at the Park.
After Northleach won the toss and decided to bat, openers Crompton and Hiscock made a sure start as they both made fifteen. After they were dismissed, however, bowlers Graham Clark (2/10), Gurinder Singh (3/13) and Geoff Perrott (3/5) ran through the middle and lower order to bowl Northleach out for 67.
Andy Reynolds' innings of fourteen was ended when Charlton knocked his off stump out of the ground before Durston, who hit successive sixes and three fours, and Perrott (3*) hit of the winning runs with plenty of time to spare.
Cirencester will play hosts to Guitang Power in the second round.
