Team effort leads Cirencester to first win [Sunday 20 October 2002]

Contributions from each members of the Cirencester team combined to give the team their first win in the Swindon Indoor Cricket League against Ramsbury. Captain Andy Cooper made one change from the last weekend's defeat, with leg spinner Rich Hudson replacing Simon Rowe.

After winning the toss and electing to field, Cirencester made a breakthrough in the second over as Rich Hudson effected an early run out. Tight bowling in the middle of the innings by Andy Reynolds (2-0-7-0) and Andy Walker (3-1-16-0) and a first wicket in the league from Cooper meant Cirencester were able to dismiss their opponents for 72.

Andy Walker and Andy Reynolds got Cirencester off to a confident start in pursuit of their target before Walker was run out for nine. Reynolds (21) later suffered the same fate and Cooper retired not out on 26 before Dan Hudson (13*) hit a six for the winning runs.
