Indiscipline costs Cirencester dear [Monday 3 February 2003]
Cirencester came into this match against Civil Service 2 looking for back-to-back wins for the first time in this Indoor League season. Keeping an unchanged team, captain Andy Cooper lost the toss and Cirencester were put into bat.
A disastrous first seven balls for Cirencester saw both openers Cooper and Andy Walker run out with the score standing at 5. Rich Hudson and Andy Lobo were charged with the difficult task of setting a defendable total. Hudson began with the recovery work with 14 including one six before he was yorked. Dan Hudson joined Andy Lobo and they added 35 until Hudson was out hit roof after scoring 15. Simon Rowe was out to a freak dismissal and then he was run out while running with last man Lobo who was left stranded after compiling 40*.
Civil Service 2's openers took advantage on some lacklustre bowling to put on a rapid 64 with both retiring. Cirencester managed to take one wicket as the Civil Service number three holed out to Rich Hudson off the bowling of his older brother Dan.
