Heavy rain washes out weekend's play [Monday 28 July 2003]

The whole of Cirencester's programme of league matches was washed out on Saturday afternoon due to heavy rain. The 1st XI can feel relieved, as they were struggling away at promotion chasers Cheltenham Civil Service. Having lost the toss and been asked to bat on a wet wicket, Cirencester were 34/6 when the heavens opened.

At Cirencester Park, the 2nd XI were in the field against bottom side Leonard Stanley 2nd XI. The visitors were 58/0 when the players left the field. The 3rd XI's away fixture against Tetbury 2nd XI was called off on Saturday morning.
