Putting
the ground to bed - a thank you
Sunday 18 September 2005
Thank you very much to everyone who worked so hard during the week, on Saturday and on Sunday. The squares, the ground and the clubhouse look fantastic. Almost every task on the job list was completed. All that remains is:
- Re-seeding the areas
where the hedge cuttings were burnt; Dan Robbins will do this once they have
cooled down
- Cleaning down the beer pipes and checking that the heaters are OK for the
winter committee and planning meetings...and Brian Woodcockwould be disappointed
if we had not left anything for him to do when he gets home in 3 weeks time!
As well as the work on the squares, we definitely achieved our objective of "Leaving all areas of the ground and the clubhouse tidy so that winter and spring work (and CricketForce!) can focus on improvements rather than clearing up the previous season’s mess".
Pride of place must go to Dan Robbins but it was a superb team effort from everyone on the Roll of Honour:
