Tasks for "Put to Bed" Weekend (Sat 17 & Sun 18 September)
Objectives
• Provide
all necessary support for Dan Robbins' work to repair the squares and prepare
them for next season
• Pack up and store all the Club’s equipment
• Leave all areas of the ground and the clubhouse tidy so that winter
and spring work (and CricketForce!) can focus on improvements rather than
clearing up the previous season’s mess
• Create a list of items needing to be purchased for repairs or to replace
damaged equipment
Squares
• "Heavy
gang" to support Dan Robbins
• "Scrapings" to be used to stored to repair net bowlers’
footmarks and fill rabbit holes and holes caused by scaffolders’ lorry
Ground
• Remove
"sheets" from Sightscreens (x3) – John Putney
• Remove net from "Wheely Net"
• Roll up net on fixed nets to the top – better to remove completely?
- Nick Price to supply ladder
• Roll up Flicx pitches in Fixed Nets – Done! Now need to clean
up and store
• Burn hedge cuttings, level ash and re-sow grass seed
• Tidy Groundsman’s Shed – Nick Price
• Store valuable equipment in the Thirds’ Changing Room
• Prune lavender – Nick Price
• Take in Bridges' banner
• Strim round Groundsman’s shed etc
• Repair net bowlers’ footmarks and fill rabbit holes and holes
caused by scaffolders' lorry
• Clean up crease marking kit
Bar/Kitchen/Lounge – The Brown Family
• Take
down pictures for winter storage
• Run through "Dishwasher Cleaner"
• Clean Bar/Kitchen Floor
• Clean out boiler cupboard in Away Changing Room
• Put down Rat poison
• Check courtyard tidy, and repair door to old beer cellar
• Sort lost property and store or dispose of, as appropriate
• Check heaters AOK for winter meetings
• Cottage Garden – spread ash, cut down "errant" trees
and shrubs and kill unwanted stumps - BDH to supply chemicals
• Clean out fridges and freezers
• Clean down beer pipes and leave full of water
Changing Rooms etc
• Sweep
though and wipe surfaces – Home, Away and Thirds
• Move new freezer up into the "Lounge"
• Tidy Kit lockers and cupboard, disposing of damaged items and logging
replacements required
• Tidy "Cricket Shed"
Tools etc required
• Barrows
for loam, and shovels for other ground repairs
• Gardening gloves
• Secateurs, hedge trimmer and chainsaw may come in handy
• Stanley knives for nets and old sightscreen
• Trailers for hedge "cuttings"
• Rakes to collect detritus from under the hedge
