Saturday 31 January 2004

Cirencester will start the 2004 season with an intriguing contest away to Birdlip on Saturday 1 May. Both the sides enjoyed two close contests last season and will provide the coming year with an excellent opener. The club's first home fixture is against Haresfield, the team Cirencester beat on the final day of the 2003 season to ensure survival in Division 2 of the Gloucestershire County Cricket League.

The club's 2nd XI get underway against promoted Cheltenham Saracens 2nd XI before travelling to the other promoted side, Cheltenham Civil Service 2nd XI, the following week.

The Cotswold District Cricket Association are not expected to release the club's 3rd XI or Colts fixtures until March.

Cirencester's fixture secretary, John Putney, has also finalised the club's friendly fixtures. Cirencester will start their pre-season matches on Sunday 11 April with a trip to local rivals Fairford.
