Fairford take advantage of lacklustre Cirencester [Monday 8 July 2002]

Cirencester's recent resurgence took a blow on Saturday as a lacklustre performance escorted league leaders Fairford to an easy victory.

Graham Clarke's maiden five wicket haul for Cirencester was in vain as Fairford batsmen Clive Gray, Adrian Newport and former Cirencester player Mark Greener all compiled half-centuries to give Fairford a huge total of 303.

In reply only the recalled Dave Durston (43) made a noticeable score and but for a stand of 49 for the last wicket between Clarke and Gurminder Singh, Cirencester's score of 170 could have been even more embarassing.
