U11s match with Cricklade finishes in tie [Tuesday 1 July 2003]

Cotswold District Cricket Association Junior League
Cirencester U11s - 91/7
Cricklade U11s - 91/7
Cirencester U11s tied with Cricklade U11s

Cricklade, winning the toss, elected to field. Cirencester faced some precise bowling with runs hard to come by in the first few overs and with four wickets down after six overs, Cricklade had the upper hand.

The advent of Tom Dykes to the crease, saw the run rate rise dramatically after a succession of fours. Followed, admirably, by Billy Breen with more boundaries, enabling Cirencester to finish on 91-7.

Cricklade's batting line-up took Cirencester quickly to task with three fours in the second over. The fielding side then tightened the reins with exemplary performances by Jack Harris, James McPherson and Joshua Phelps in the out field assisted with fine bowling from Tom Juniper, two wickets in his first over, Will Alder and Tom Groombridge.

After some nervousness from both sides in the last over, the game finished even, Cricklade amassing the very same total as Cirencester, 91-7. A fine result from two very sporting sides.
