Colts prove too disciplined for Malmesbury [Thursday 11 July 2002]
A disciplined bowling and fielding performance gave Cirencester Colts their first win of 2002 in the Brain Drain Cotswold District Evening League.
The Colts' quartet of bowlers, Andy Reynolds, Andy Barnes, Andy Lobo and Jeff Perrott only conceded one boundary in the whole Malmesbury innings. The tone for the fielding performance was set by a brilliant diving catch by Dan Robbins at mid-off and Cirencester never looked in danger of conceding an avalanche of runs at the death.
Simon Rowe hit the winning runs but two calm and assured innings from wicketkeeper Tom Burgess and captain Andy Reynolds ensured the Colts of a well deserved win.
