Club match details for Sunday 28 August
Tuesday 16 August 2005

At the Senior Cricket Selection Meeting on August 1 it was suggested that, given his phenomenal efforts before his posting to Bosnia, the format for this day should be suggested by Brian Woodcock. During this week there has been considerable email traffic between Banja Luca, Cirencester and Andy Barnes in Staffordshire and the following is the proposal:

· 15/15 format (as per 20/20)

· 4 teams selected, as in the Six-a-side, to be of as close to equal standard as possible with a balance of Junior, Student, Lady and Senior players. We would hope that lots of committee members (including Junior Team Managers), Under 13s, Under 15s and Parents will play, with possibly a few guests.

· All players would have 2 matches - 2 x semi finals followed by a Final and 3rd/4th place

· To ensure that every player is fully involved:

- Maximum of 2 overs per bowler, with all bar the wicket-keeper bowling one over

- If a player does not bat in the semi-final, they must bat in the second match, i.e. those not batting in their first match will occupy slots 1- n (where n is the number that did not bat) in the second, the rest of the order is then flexible

- Batsmen retire at 30, but are allowed back in the order that they retire at the end of the innings when 9 wickets have fallen.

· Meet at 2:00 pm with a 2:30 (prompt) start and be finished by 7:00 pm

· Rolling snack tea, with everyone paying £2 per head

· If committee members believe that it will add to the interest in the event and boost the number of players, hire some entertainment for youngsters (e.g. a bouncy castle.)
