gain promotion
Monday 13 September 2004
Cirencester have been promoted to GCCL Division 1 along with Birdlip and Ruardean Hill for next season, due to no Gloucestershire teams being relegated from Glos/Wilts 2 and thus forcing a reorganisation of the County League sides.
Cirencester finished the season strongly, winning five out of the last six matches, including a thumping 164 run victory over Down Hatherley in the last fixture of the season.
Club captain Andy Reynolds led the team superbly and was also amongst the team's star performers, finishing with 376 runs at 28.92 and 24 wickets at 11.88. Reynolds was ably supported by Dominic Jeffcott (305 runs at 38.13), Donwill Rodrigues (441 runs at 33.92) and John Turton (18 wickets at 16.22), as well as notable performances from many invdividuals throughout the season.
